Product Overview
Alan and Jane Flinders do love their Uncle Barnaby. The townspeople may be quick to call Barnaby a cruel and cheap mayor, but thatās only because the townspeople donāt want to pay him what he deserves, for running this town as well as he does. He tells them so.
Letting the local children know this doesnāt seem to help them make friends, somehow. But thatās all right, because they Alan and Jane have the Pipers, and there are quite a lot of Piper children. As they grow up, Alan even falls for one Mary Piper, and he knows they are destined to be together.
Imagine his surprise when he returns from nearly drowning at sea to discover Uncle Barnaby has been courting his dear Mary! Mary! Quite contrary, indeed!
This is a retelling of the classic Toyland story, but without the fairy tale-colored lenses.
