Product Overview
When a businessman rushes to Havana to visit an old college friend stricken with fever, he expects a bedside vigil—not a confession of shipwreck, delirium, and a discovery too fantastic to believe. The sick man insists he survived a hurricane, washed ashore on an uncharted island, and found the submerged hulk of a Spanish treasure galleon with a chest of gold bars. His story grew stranger still: a mysterious yacht arrived, its owner listened, and then abandoned him to die.
Now, with the fever breaking, the two friends piece together clues that point to a ruthless Cuban sugar planter preparing a secret expedition. In the sweltering streets of Havana, the businessman digs into the planter’s affairs, discovering hired divers, a chartered schooner, and a yacht ready to sail. But shadowing a dangerous man across the Caribbean is a gamble that could cost them everything.
