Rex Ellingwood Beach (1877-1949) wrote adventure novels, many of which were set in Alaska. Joining the Klondike gold rush, Beach had prospected there for five years before turning to writing. Several of his books were successfully adapted for film. This volume was illustrated by Charles Dana Gibson.
