William Wilkie Collins (1824-1889) was an English novelist and playwright, best known for The Woman in White and The Moonstone. This volume contains the first part of Man and Wife, in which Collins attacks both Irish and Scottish marriage laws as well as arguing the case for a Married Woman's Property Act.
