Wildside Press (through its Borgo Press imprint) has been publishing the Sime~Gen series for quite a few years now, and interacting with Jacqueline Lichtenberg and Jean Lorrah has been one of the great joys of working here at Wildside. Two more passionate, caring, and talented creators do not exist in science fiction. For the last few years, I have been urging them to prepare new Sime~Gen books for publication, and the latest result will be Volume 13 in the series—Fear and Courage—an collection of stories by 14 writers who participate in the online Sime~Gen fan community.
As a taste of what's coming in Fear and Courage, here are 4 short stories set in the Sime~Gen universe to whet your appetite!
Don’t worry if you haven’t encountered the Sime~Gen series before. The world has a vast storyline, with many individual works that stand on their own. It can be sprawling and immersive, if that’s the experience you want. (If you are interested in finding out more, check out the Sime~Gen web site at simegen.com.) But if you’re more of a casual reader than a joiner, you can still enjoy the works on their own merits. Great world, great series, great writers.

More than I expected
This was my first experience with Wildside Press and these stories. I love the complexity. I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan, and the depth reminded me of Martin's series. Can't wait to read more. The writing was excellent and the plots were captivating. I was surprised to find myself in the "real world" when I stopped reading.
