Herbert George Wells (1866-1946), known by his pen name H. G. Wells, was an English author, best known for his work in the science fiction genre. This novel is about Arthur Kipps, a Draper's apprentice who inherits a fortune from his Grandfather. The musical "Half a Sixpence" was based on this book.
