Olive Tilford Dargan (1869-1968) was an American educator, novelist, playwright, and poet. In 1916 she received the Southern Society of New York prize for the best book by a Southern writer, and in 1925 she was awarded the Belmont-Ward Fugitive Prize. Two novels published under the pseudonym Fielding Burke describe labor conditions in North Carolina mill towns. This volume contains the plays Lords and Lovers, The Shepherd, and The Siege.
