Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm (1785-1863 and 1786-1859, respectively), known as the Brothers Grimm, were German academics, linguists, cultural researchers, and authors who together collected folklore. Among the most well-known storytellers of European folk tales, the Grimms popularized such stories as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Frog Prince, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, Snow White, and Little Red Riding Hood [here called Little Red Cap] -- all of which are included in Household Stories, along with dozens of others. Also included are the original black & white interior illustrations from the 1886 British edition.
Translated by Lucy Crane, and illustrated by Walter Crane.
