Look at it this way: the average shipping cost for a single item is $2.66 for postage. That leaves 33 cents. Ebay takes 30 cents of the $2.99 charged for shipping. That leaves 3 cents. The padded envelope costs about 25 cents. That puts it at -22 cents. And I haven't figured out the costs of paper, printer ink, packing tape, and my time. (Yes, I value my time!)
